Scientific Calculator

Standard and scientific calculator with memory keys, a calculation history and full keyboard support.

Runs in your browser. Nothing you add is uploaded.

What the Scientific Calculator does

A calculator should get out of the way. This one has a clear display that shows the whole expression as you type, large keys laid out like the calculators on Windows and phones, and a Scientific mode for trigonometry, logarithms, powers and brackets when you need more. Results go into a history list you can reuse, memory keys hold sub-totals, and everything works from the keyboard. All calculations run in your browser.

How to use the online calculator

  1. Click the keys or type with your keyboard or numpad.
  2. Enter numbers and operators (+, −, ×, ÷). The line above the result shows the expression so far.
  3. Press Enter or = to get the result. Answers are rounded to 12 decimal places, so 0.1 + 0.2 shows 0.3.
  4. Switch to Scientific for sin, cos, tan (in degrees or radians), ln, log, powers (xʸ), cubes and cube roots, factorials, brackets, π and e. Press 2nd for the inverse functions.
  5. Open History to see past results; select one to use it again.
  6. Use the memory keys (MC, MR, M+, M−, MS) to keep a running sub-total across calculations.

The Scientific Calculator runs entirely in your browser — nothing you enter is uploaded, stored, or logged.

How it works

Standard Arithmetic

Result = Operand1 (±, ×, ÷) Operand2

Calculates basic operations following operator precedence rules.

Example: 250 × 1.18 = 295

Trigonometric Sine

sin(θ) or sin⁻¹(x)

Computes the trigonometric sine in either Degrees (DEG) or Radians (RAD).

Example: sin(30°) = 0.5

When to use it

Everyday sums and bills

Add up invoices, receipts and expenses; the history keeps each total so you can check your work or carry a result into the next sum.

Percentages the way a desk calculator does them

200 + 10 % gives 220 and 200 − 10 % gives 180, because after + or − the percent is taken of the first number. After × or ÷ it simply divides by 100.

Homework and engineering

Trigonometry in degrees or radians, logarithms, powers, roots and factorials, without a handheld scientific calculator.

Good to know

  • Press Esc to clear everything, Delete to clear the current entry, and Backspace to remove the last digit.
  • Press Ctrl+C (Cmd+C on a Mac) with nothing selected to copy the current result.
  • Pressing a second operator replaces the first, so a mistyped + can be corrected by pressing − straight away.
  • Key sounds are off by default; turn them on with the Sound button if you like audible feedback.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use my physical computer keyboard with this calculator?

Yes! Full keyboard support is active. You can type numbers 0-9, decimal point, standard operators (+, -, *, /), Enter or = for equals, Backspace to delete a digit, and Esc to clear.

Does this calculator save my calculations?

Yes. Each result you get with = is added to the History panel. Select a past result to use it in your next calculation, or clear the history at any time. It is kept in this browser for three days.

Is my data private?

Completely. All calculations happen 100% client-side inside your web browser. No numbers or equations are ever uploaded or transmitted to any server.

How do I switch between Standard and Scientific modes?

Use the Standard / Scientific switch above the calculator. Standard mode covers everyday arithmetic, percent, squares and square roots; Scientific mode adds trigonometry (sin, cos, tan and their inverses), logarithms (ln, log), powers (xʸ), cubes and cube roots, factorials, brackets and the constants π and e.

How does the calculator handle order of operations?

It follows standard precedence (BODMAS / PEMDAS): brackets first, then powers, then multiplication and division, then addition and subtraction. So 2 + 3 × 4 is 14, and (2 + 3) × 4 is 20.

Is my history saved when I refresh the page?

Yes. The history and memory are kept in this browser's local storage for three days, then cleared automatically. They never leave your device.
