About these tools

These tools handle the text jobs that eat time: cutting a long report down to its key points, changing the tone of an email, turning legal or technical writing into plain English, pulling the main keywords out of an article, explaining what a JSON payload or a formula does, and copying the text out of a screenshot or scan.

By default everything runs in your browser. The text tools use fast algorithmic language processing — sentence ranking, keyword scoring and rewrite rules rather than a large language model — so nothing you paste is uploaded. Image to Text reads pictures with Tesseract OCR, also on your device.

Each tool also has an optional cloud mode powered by Google's Gemini model, for harder cases such as handwriting or long, nuanced text. It stays off until you choose it, and the tool tells you that your input will be sent to Google before you do.

Frequently asked questions

Do these AI tools upload my text?

Not by default. The on-device mode processes your text in the browser and sends nothing anywhere. Only if you switch a tool to its cloud mode is that tool's input sent to Google's Gemini model to produce the result, and the page says so before you switch.

Is the on-device mode a real AI model?

No, and the tools do not claim it is. It uses established language-processing techniques — ranking sentences by importance, scoring keywords, rule-based rewriting and simplification — which are fast, private and predictable. The optional cloud mode uses Google's Gemini large language model.

Can I rely on the output?

Treat it as a draft. Summaries can drop details that matter to you, rewrites can shift meaning, and explanations of formulas or JSON are an educational aid, not professional advice. Check anything important against the original.
