AI Keyword Extractor

Extract ranked keywords, search tags, and multi-word key phrases from articles and text.

Runs on your device by default. The optional cloud AI mode sends your input to Google Gemini.

What the AI Keyword Extractor does

Keywords tell you what a piece of text is actually about — useful for SEO, tagging, research and checking that a page covers the topic you intended. This extractor lists the most important single words with how often each appears and its share of the text, and the key multi-word phrases. The on-device engine counts terms in your browser, folding plurals together and ignoring filler words, and finds phrases using the RAKE method. The optional Cloud AI mode asks Google Gemini to pick keywords by meaning and explain why each one matters.

How to extract keywords from text

  1. Choose On-device for private, instant counts, or Cloud AI for keywords chosen by meaning.
  2. Paste an article, product description or page copy.
  3. Pick how many keywords you want: 6, 10, 15 or 20.
  4. Press Extract keywords, or Ctrl + Enter.
  5. Read the keywords and key phrases, then copy them as comma-separated tags or save the list.

The AI Keyword Extractor runs on your device by default. If you switch to the optional cloud AI mode, your input is sent to Google's Gemini model to produce the result.

When to use it

Checking a page before publishing

If a guide to home solar power lists "solar", "panels" and "electricity" as its top keywords, it is on topic. If "company" and "offer" come first, the content is drifting into sales copy.

Tagging articles and products

The key phrases make good starting tags and categories. Copying them as comma-separated tags saves retyping them into a CMS or shop.

Researching a topic

Running several competing articles through the extractor shows which terms and sub-topics they all cover, and which ones your own piece is missing.

Good to know

  • Density above about 3% for one keyword in a long article often reads as repetitive. Write for the reader, not the count.
  • Repeated phrases are usually more meaningful than single words: "battery storage" says more than "battery".
  • Remove navigation, footers and boilerplate before pasting a web page so they do not skew the counts.
  • Keywords show what a text is about, not what people search for. Pair them with search volume data before making SEO decisions.

Frequently asked questions

How are keywords ranked?

Keywords are ranked using frequency distribution and statistical relevance while filtering common stopwords.

How are keywords ranked on-device?

By how often each word appears after removing common filler words and treating plurals as the same word. Phrases are scored with RAKE, which favours words that tend to appear inside longer phrases, and phrases that repeat get a bonus.

What is keyword density?

The share of all words in the text taken by one keyword, as a percentage. If "solar" appears 5 times in 108 words, its density is 4.6%.

Why do Cloud AI results differ?

Gemini chooses keywords by meaning, so it can pick an important term that appears only once, or a concept that is described but never named. The on-device counts are exact but purely statistical.
